The Ohio-to-Eerie Trail: Cincinnati – Cleveland, Ohio
The Ohio to Erie Trail is a scenic 326 mile trail that links the Ohio River to Lake Erie, primarily on rail trails and canal paths. Traversing through four major cities, numerous quaint small towns and miles of pastoral countryside this trail is an amazing way to see Ohio from a completely unique lens. Construction on this primarily rail trail based system was began in 1991 and has been steadily growing in length as funding has increased over time. Ultimately there will be some urban throughways along the journey but no more than 15% of the total ride includes street routes. This route ultimately connects Cincinnati, Columbus and Cleveland, and it is an amazing way to explore the state from a completely new perspective.
